Darkfall Races
Users will be able to pick from up to six races in darkfall and unlike most other MMO's where a player's choice has a large impact on how you can play, in darkfall your racial choice will leave you very few restrictions and what kills you can learn. The only main difference between each races is the players starting area and what alliance you will have with other races. Around 95% of the skills in this game can be learned despite what race you pick.
Alfar- The Alfar are the villain of this world and live underground which means they will have no other allies and will be enemies with every race and will have no limit on who they can kill without alignment penalties.
Humans- Judging from early tests, human will be the most played race in Darkfall. They will live very much like they did back in medieveil times, with constant struggles between church and state. Humans are allied with the dwarves and elves and are at war with the Mahrim, Orks, and Alfar.
Mirdain- The midrian are the race that closely resemble elves and live peacefully in the forest building houses in the surrounding trees. This race is allied with dwarves and humans and are enemies with Orks, Mahirm, and Alfar
Dwarves- Dwarves love to live underground away from the danger that is the surface. However their land has begun to expand up and they are starting a small settlement on land and are allied with the humans and Mirdain but enemies with Orks, Mahrim and Alfar.
Mahrim- This race look like wolves which have learned to stand on their two back legs. They have recently left behind their nature to hunt to build solid settlements and embrace the civilized world. The Mahrim are enemies with Humans, Dwarves, Elves, and Alfar but have a weird twisted respect for Orks.
Orks- Orks have gone away from their natural lifestyle of no permanent home, no civilization and either hunting or killing to now building cities and enslaving workers. Their city is built on the back of enslaving the goblins as well as having an evil cult of Dwarves enslaved to do some of the work that the goblins can't do. The Orks are at war with Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and Alfar but they respect the Mahrim.
Each race has their very own mount which can be bought at their mount shop. One interesting twist though is that players can buy, stealing or use another race's mount without permission. The Mahrim are the only race without a mount but can walk on all fours and run just as fast as others mounts.
