THE RECRUIT is the entry level (Tier 1: Levels 1 - 5) classification for all new Allied Free Sentients (AFS) force members. It is at these levels that basic weapons, combat abilities and protocols are introduced and mastered. The Recruit is the foundation on which a military career is built upon. Once a Recruit has successfully demonstrated proficiency in the required skills and abilities, he or she will be prepared to enter the Soldier or Specialist career path.
RECRUIT WEAPONS & ARMOR
Recruits are issued the basic infantry weapons, armor and tools of the AFS. At Level 1 proficiency, Recruits are limited to Light Armor and Pistol skills. Access to the full suite of Recruit weapons is granted upon reaching Level 2. These form the core combat skills and abilities of every AFS member, regardless of classification, and are crucial to battlefield success and career advancement.
Basic combat body armor issued to Recruits. It provides good ballistic protection and moderate levels of fire, cold and electrical resistance. The Advanced Armor Industries CA1 (LA) is a modular, lightweight, ballistic and energy absorbent hard body armor composed of advanced ceramic, ballistic fiber and titanium composite matrixes and laminates with liquid armor (Advanced Polyethylene Glycol Shear Thickening Fluid) support. Advanced variants offer increased resistances.

A medium range, semi-automatic hand weapon with fast to medium action and low damage. The AFS Standard Manufacturer’s MP7-S is the basic standard-issue sidearm for all AFS forces. Modified versions (Service, Combat, and Assault) are issued according to Level/Tier classification. It has 5 ammunition variants:

Each AFS Recruit is taught the art of hand-to-hand combat. Utilizing ancient martial skills that have been distilled and refined to a fine tactical edge, the striking and kicking techniques taught to Recruits insure a high degree of battlefield survival in melee situations. Though weapons are the preferred tools of the trade, an unarmed AFS trooper remains a formidable combatant.
